I've been very much out of touch with the blogging community and decided its time to get back into it. As you may have read from the description this blog is going to be heavily oriented towards companion animal nutrition, with emphasis on dogs and cats. But I'm not opposed to adding other animals as well as long as its relevant and I find good material to reflect on.
Little bit about myself. My name is Victoria, I live in Asheville, North Carolina with my 6 year old weimaraner Uno. Currently I'm enrolled in school to be a vet tech and enjoy it quite a bit. Though I expect challenges ahead once I enter the work field. I've been around animals my whole life and I've worked with variety of animals from horses to hamsters and everything in between, including wildlife. My passion is to help better the lives of animals everywhere while educating pet caretakers in the process. I've always had a deep passion for alternative/holistic and preventative approach to health and well being and obviously nutrition is a huge part of it. Since the big pet food recall in 2007, I began feverishly researching the pet food industry and all its lies and deceptions. I didnt realize how little the general public knows about it and its become my mission to help people learn and make their own concrete choices when it came to the health of their pets. Since there is so much information floating on the web, it can be a real headache trying to sort right from wrong. I have a pretty good base knowledge, but there are new studies coming out almost on monthly basis so it seems. What was beneficial once, is no longer or even downright harmful. Though a lot of animal nutrition is common sense based, I will try my best to keep it unbiased and fair with regard to latest research and findings.
Hope you will enjoy reading and following this blog as much as I will enjoy writing it.
